Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll increases to 99

Three COVID-19 related deaths were reported today increasing the country’s death toll to 99.
The Director General of Health Services said one individual was identified as an 87 year old male from Colombo who passed away at the Colombo National Hospital today.
The Government Information Department said the cause of death was identified as a bacterial infection and exacerbated chronic lung diseases with COVID-19 infection.
The second victim was identified as an 80 year old male from Bambalapitiya who was diagnosed with the coronavirus and passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment at the Colombo East Base Hospital.
The cause of death was determined as high blood pressure, pneumonia and a heart attack caused by COVID-19.
Another individual was identified as a 73 year old female from Peliyagoda who passed away on Monday at the Colombo National Hospital.
The cause of death was identified as high blood pressure, diabetes and a stroke caused by the coronavirus.
