Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 recoveries exceed 18,000

More than 18,000 persons have now recovered from COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said the number of coronavirus recoveries has risen to 18,304 after 487 individuals were discharged from hospitals during the past 24 hours.

According to the latest situation report, 157 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the Kandakadu Treatment centre, 99 from the Punani Treatment centre and 44 persons who recovered have been released from the Kattankudy Base hospital during the past 24 hours.

Accordingly, 6,106 COVID-19 patients are currently receiving treatment at 55 facilities across the country.

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sri Lanka remains at 24,534 following the detection of 545 patients yesterday.

620 persons suspected to have contracted the novel coronavirus are also under observation.
