Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 recoveries rise to 3,714

Another 70 individuals who contracted the novel coronavirus in the country have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals during the past 24 hours.

Accordingly, the number of COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka has increased to 3,714.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 17 COVID-19 patients were released from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, 12 from the Welikanda Base hospital, nine persons each from the Colombo East Base hospital and the Teldeniya Base hospital, seven from the Laggala Pallegama Divisional hospital, five patients each from the Minuwangoda Base hospital, the Hambantota District General hospital, the Rambukkana District hospital and one person was released from the Galgamuwa Base hospital during the past 24 hours.

Accordingly, 3,424 patients including 10 foreign nationals are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at 27 medical facilities across the country.

481 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the country remains at 7,153 following the detection of 866 patients yesterday.
