Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally increases to 10,663

Another 102 new COVID-19 cases have been identified, increasing the total number of infections confirmed in Sri Lanka to 10,663.

The Department of Government Information said new cases include 81 infections identified as associates of previously confirmed COVID-19 patients and 21 cases detected from quarantine centres.

Accordingly, the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster currently stands at 7,185.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry said 6,244 persons including seven foreign nationals are currently undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at 40 facilities across the country.

Meanwhile, another 117 individuals including two foreign nationals infected by the novel coronavirus recovered and were discharged from hospitals earlier today increasing the number of COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka to 4,399.

399 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under observation at present.
