Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally increases to 93,910

Another 138 COVID-19 cases have been detected today in the country, raising the number of confirmed infections to 93,910. All new cases have been identified as contacts of the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 2,405 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.
Earlier today, 209 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 90,917.
The Epidemiology Unit said 22 persons were discharged from the Kopai Treatment Centre while 14 persons each were released from the Kahagolla Treatment Centre and the Laggala-Pallegama District Hospital during the past 24 hours.
346 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
