Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally jumps to 5,475

The number of coronavirus cases detected in the country has increased to 5,475 following the detection of 121 cases today.

115 new cases are linked to the Minuwangoda cluster while six arrivals also tested positive for COVID-19.

Accordingly, the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster has surpassed 2,000 cases and now stands at 2,014.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said, 2,067 patients including 14 foreign nationals are currently receiving medical treatment for coronavirus at 17 hospitals across the country.

Meanwhile, earlier today, 10 more coronavirus infected persons recovered and were discharged from hospitals, increasing the number of recoveries to 3,395.

255 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation.
