State Minister Arundika Fernando has tested positive for COVID-19.

When contacted by NewsRadio the State Minister of Coconut, Kithul and Palmyra Cultivation Promotion and Related Industrial Product Manufacturing & Export Diversification confirmed that he contracted the coronavirus.

The State Minister told NewsRadio that he underwent a PCR test at a private hospital yesterday while the result issued today returned a positive result.

State Minister Arundika Fernando is the seventh Member of Parliament to test positive for COVID-19. MP Wasantha Yapabandara confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Ministers Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Vasudeva Nanayakkara, State Ministers Dayasiri Jayasekera and Piyal Nishantha de Silva and Parliamentarian Rauff Hakeem also contracted the virus.
