State of Emergency regulations to be debated on the 24th

Party Leaders have decided to convene in Parliament and debate the prevailing situation in the island from 1pm to 2pm tomorrow.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Leader of the Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa are expected to make special statements in Parliament tomorrow.
Meanwhile the Inspector General of Police was summoned to the Party leaders meeting held today, at which the IGP was questioned extensively on the prevailing state of the country.
Furthermore the Office of the Speaker of House claimed the regulations of the State of Emergency will be taken up for debate in Parliament on the 24th of April between 10am and 4pm.
Meanwhile the Parliamentary working committee on National and Religious reconciliation had convened today.
Accordingly it has been decided to summon a special committee consisting of religious leaders and politicians at 3pm on Friday.
