Stores and pharmacies in WP open today

All stores selling essential items and pharmacies in the Western Province will be allowed to open between 8am and 10pm today.

Acting Police Media Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana requested the public to adhere to heath guidelines when patronising stores.

DIG Rohana said it is mandatory that the public maintains social distancing and wear face masks when visiting shops and pharmacies.

He further noted curfew will come into effect in 117 Police areas in the Western Province and five police areas in Kuliyapitya at midnight today and will be lifted at 5.00 a.m on Monday, adding that curfew will remain in effect in 68 Police areas.

DIG Ajith Rohana further stated students sitting for the GCE Advanced Level Examination will be allowed to produce their admission card as a curfew permit.
