Strong opposition in society over 20A-Rajitha

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says strong opposition persists in society pertaining to the draft bill of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, that is due to be taken up for debate in Parliament tomorrow.
Speaking at a media briefing Parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne said a group within the government is against the proposed 20th Amendment, claiming that predictions however cannot be made over who will vote against the bill.
The MP said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa consented with party leaders to amend three clauses within the draft bill.
The MP also claimed that several factions including the Maha Sanga are opposed to the draft bill.
He noted that many who were against the 19th Amendment are now speaking in favour of it.
