Swiss Embassy employee served indictments by AG

The employee of the Switzerland Embassy in Sri Lanka has been served indictments by the Attorney General.

The Coordinating Secretary of the Attorney General State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said indictments were served for providing false evidence claiming she was abducted by officers of the Criminal Investigation’s Department.

The employee of the Switzerland Embassy in Colombo was arrested by the CID last year and was also held in remand custody before being released.

The employee at the time alleged she was abducted and intimidated by an unknown group.

The suspect is accused of providing false statements and inciting disaffection against the government.
