‘Those who held wedding ceremony to face legal action’

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana says legal action will be taken against a group that held a wedding ceremony at a leading hotel in Galleface this morning.
The Police Media Spokesman said organisers of the wedding and the hotel management will face legal action.
The DIG said information was received of a wedding being held this morning, adding that the Colpetty Police upon launching investigations discovered 35 individuals in attendance.
The DIG said the wedding was conducted in violation of quarantine regulations.
Meanwhile commenting on groups of individuals who left the Colombo District, DIG Ajith Rohana said an investigation has been launched to identify such groups, by visiting destinations popular among local tourists.
He noted that hotels and inns will be inspected by Police as well.
The DIG added that Police issued a statement on the advice of the Director General of Health Services on Thursday requesting the public to refrain from leaving the Western Province during the curfew period.
He claimed that persons who left the province will not be allowed to return during the next three days adding that roadblocks have been set up at all entry points including expressways.
He noted that vehicles that left the Western Province will be identified when they attempt to return on Monday.
