Tourist arrivals up in November – TDA

The Tourism Development Authority says Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals rose 16.8 percent in November compared to the same period last year.
The Authority said November recorded 195,582 tourists arriving in the country compared to 167,511 in November 2017.
The Tourism Development Authority said of the 30th of November 2018, 2,080,627 tourists visited Sri Lanka this year.
The largest arrivals were witnessed from India, the United Kingdom and China.
Asia and the Pacific continued to be the largest source of tourist traffic to Sri Lanka with 47 percent of the total traffic received in November 2018.
Europe accounted for 43 percent of total traffic, the US 6 percent, the Middle East 3 percent and Africa 1 percent.
Arrivals from Australia recorded 51.9 percent with 10,299 visitors entering the country in November 2018.
