The Self-employed Three Wheeler Drivers Union says three-wheel fares will not be increased regardless of the fuel price revision that took place last night.
Chairman Sunil Jayawardene speaking to NewsRadio however said they will register their opposition with Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera and will request him to withdraw the fuel pricing formula.
Jayawardene said the fuel pricing formula that meets the requirements of developed nations will not agree with a developing country like Sri Lanka.
He added even though fuel prices were increased, three-wheeler fares will not be increased.
Fuel prices were revised as of midnight yesterday under the monthly fuel pricing formula.
A litre of 92 Octane was increased to Rs.129, a litre of 95 Octane Rs.152, a litre of Auto Diesel Rs.103 and a litre of Super Diesel Rs.126.
