The United National Party has expressed its disappointment at the Joint Opposition referring to legal action being taken against those accused of misusing state property, as acts of political vengeance.
Speaking at a media briefing this morning at the party headquarters Sirikotha, MP Thushara Indunil Amarasena said the Opposition maintains double standards when taking action against the corrupt.
The MP added the government since assuming office, has only focused on taking action against the corrupt, with the establishment of several special high courts and the Police being made independent.
He further said when sentences are due to be issued against the corrupt, it is referred to as an act of political vengeance.
