A special party leaders meeting headed by Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya was held at 9.30 this morning at the parliamentary complex.
However representatives of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance were reportedly not present at the discussion.
Parliament reconvened this morning at 10.30am without the participation of UPFA members.
Members of Parliament were expected to debate a resolution presented in Parliament, demanding the President to take action on No-Confidence motions passed in parliament over the past several weeks.
However Party leaders had agreed during the meeting to discuss the present political situation as an adjournment debate instead of the proposed motion for the day in Parliament.
