‘Wild Elephant issue to be tackled under phases’

State Minister of Wildlife Wimalaweera Dissanayake says solutions to concerns surrounding Wild elephants approaching villages will be provided in the near future, under several phases.
Speaking to NewsRadio State Minister Dissanayake said initial steps to execute the programme have been launched with the aid of the Civil Defence Force.
He said therefore efforts are underway to repair elephant fences and provide equipment to farmers to ward off elephants.
State Minister Dissanayake also stressed the support of the public is essential in effectively addressing the wild elephant issue.
The State Minister stressed the effective implementation of a stringent plan would result in a successful solution to the issue.
