A militant wanted for the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009 and for the involvement in attacks on the General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army has been killed in a US drone strike in Paktika, Afghanistan.
Qari Yaseen was said to be involved in the attack against Sri Lankan Cricket Team in 2009. The drone strike carried out in the district targeted Yaseen and three accomplices who were travelling in a vehicle.
Yaseen was part of various terrorist attacks carried out in Pakistan.
The Express Tribune reports he was part of the attacks on ISI offices in Lahore and Multan, Rawalpindi among others.
He was also said to be a facilitator for the al Qaeda and Jundullah attacks in Pakistan, an expert at making bombs and a trainer for terrorists.
Last week, US President Donald Trump gave the Central Intelligence Agency new authority to conduct drone attacks against suspected militants.
