Gota’s citizenship makes political rounds again

Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara challenges Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksa to reveal his renunciation certificate of his US citizenship, before the November 16th Election.
Speaking during a media briefing today the Parliamentarian said the corrupt will return to power in a government led by Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
MP Nanayakkara noted that the future President, Sajith Premadasa will not let persons who have been charged with corruption allegations be appointed as part of his Cabinet.
The Parliamentarian challenged the opposition candidate, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to make a statement that in the event he accidentally does become President, he will not appoint individuals who have been charged with, or are associated with acts of corruption as part of his Cabinet.
He further requested Rajapaksa to prove his Sri Lankan citizenship prior to the Presidential Election and also challenged him to release to media the document that states he has revoked his US citizenship.
