Presidential Poll complaints surpass 3,900

The number of complaints lodged pertaining to the upcoming Presidential Election has risen to 3,905.

The Election Commission issuing a statement said 84 complaints have been recorded during the past 24 hours, ending at 4pm yesterday.

3,771 complaints have been lodged over the flouting of election laws while 27 incidents of violence have also been reported. 107 other complaints also related to the Presidential Election have been lodged since the submission of nominations on the 7th of October.

A total of 1,137 complaints have been lodged at the National Election Complaints Management Centre, while 2,768 complaints have been lodged at the District Election Complaints Management Centre thus far.
