State Minister Keheliya Rambukwella claims the Chief Justice should take corrective measures to restore the trust in the judiciary and carry-out reforms following recent events that unfolded through the revelation of phone recordings belonging to Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake.

Speaking to media in Kandy, State Minister Rambukwella said the Inspector General of Police should also look into all attempts made law enforcement agencies to flex the law of the country.

State Minister Rambukwella said he is of the view that total responsibility of the damage that has been caused to the judicial system, and the responsibility to amend those mistakes, is in the hand of the Chief Justice who is also the head of the Judicial Service Commission.

He said the Chief Justice should do the needful and restore judicial independence in the country.
