SLMC to announce stance on SAITM verdict

The Sri Lanka Medical Council will today announce its official response to the recent verdict over the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine or SAITM issued by the Court of Appeal.

The announcement will be made following a SLMC discussion that is scheduled for today under the patronage of Chairman Professor Carlo Fonseka.

The meeting is due to commence at 1 this afternoon. The Appeals Court on the 31st of January claimed that medical students of SAITM can register with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

The SLMC is due to notify the Supreme Court if they will challenge the verdict or agree with the Appeals Court.
