Sri Lanka has announced a 15-member squad for the three-match Twenty20 International against England, with Hansima Karunaratne, Sugandika Kumari, Inoshi Fernando earning recalls.
Uncapped Madushika Meththananda is also included in the side which will be led by their regular captain Chamari Atapattu.
Karunaratne, Kumari, Fernando who weren’t part of the squad that toured South Africa earlier this year, have all been added for the home T20Is.
After being whitewashed in the three-match T20I series against South Africa in February, England swept the recently concluded ODI series 3-0, resulting in Sri Lanka failing the direct qualification to the next 50-over World Cup.
Sri Lanka haven’t been in a good run of form lately, especially in the shortest format, only winning four out of the 17 games they had played since the start of 2018.
Against England, with the change in format, the hosts will be looking to reverse their fortunes going into the T20Is.
All three T20Is will be played at the P Sara Oval with the first one to be played on March 16, followed by the second and third on 26 and 29 March.
