Mathews & Dickwella power Sri Lanka to 381

A century from Angelo Mathews and fifties from Niroshan Dickwella, Dilruwan Perera and Dinesh Chandimal propelled Sri Lanka to a respectable 381 runs total in their first innings of the second Test match in Galle.
Sri Lanka started day two on 229/4 with overnight batsmen Mathews on 107 and Dickwella on 19.
Mathews could add only 3 runs to his tally and departed for 110 while debutant Ramesh Mendis was dismissed for a seven-ball duck in the opening hour of the day.
Dickwella and Dilruwan Perera then went on to make 89 runs for the seventh wicket.
Dickwella fell for 92, missing out on his maiden century but helped Sri Lanka to cross the 300-run mark.
Perera went on to make 67 while the tail could not make a telling contribution to the total.
Yesterday, after opting to bat first, Sri Lanka played cautiously and lost only four wickets.
During the process skipper Chandimal made 52 while Lahiru Thirimanne added 43.
For the visitors, James Anderson picked up 6 for 40 while Mark Wood finished with figures of 3 for 84.
