Third-placed Police Sports Club will take on Sri Lanka Air Force to kick-start the 11th week’s proceedings of the Inter-Club Rugby League Tournament, at Police Park at 4.15 this evening.
Police defeated Havelock SC 34-28 last week to remain in the top three of the Points Table.
The Airmen on the other hand lost to CR & FC 53-15 and are languishing at the bottom of the League Table.
In the second game of the day, title challengers Havelock Sports Club will lock-horns with CH & FC at Havelock Park under floodlights.
The game is slated to get underway at 6.30pm.
Havies lost to Police last week and will need to secure a win today to keep their title hopes alive.
The star-studded CH side stunned Navy SC last week in Welisara and the 26-25 win has propelled them in good stead to end the season on a high.
Tomorrow, Navy SC will host table toppers Kandy Sports Club in Welisera at 4.15pm.
Navy endured a surprising loss at the hands of CH last week and will face a daunting challenge of containing the reigning champions at home tomorrow.
Kandy recorded its 10th win of the season last week by beating Army SC 36-26.
The Kandy side looks primed to top the Points Table at the end of the season and is expected to rest a number of players for tomorrow’s game.
The final encounter of the week will see Sri Lanka Army take on CR & FC at the Welisera Navy grounds at 4.15pm on Sunday.
CR registered a big 53-15 win over Air Force last week and a victory on Sunday will help the Reds keep their second-place ranking in the league Points Table.
Army is placed fifth in the standings after they lost to Kandy at the same venue last week.
A win for the soldiers this weekend though will help them bridge the gap with the teams on the top half of the table and push for the League Title.
