Salman Khan’s family buys the Kandy Tuskers

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s family has bought the Kandy Tuskers franchise in the Lankan Premier League.

The Times of India reports, the investment has been made by Sohail Khan, his younger brother, and father Salim Khan – who are a part of the consortium.

The player draft for the tournament took place over the last few days as the contest is set to get underway from the 21st of November.

Sohail Khan confirmed the investment and said that the league, in general, has a lot of potential.

Sohail Khan told The Times of India “Given the players in our team, the league in general, and the passion of the fans, which are second to none, we see a lot of potential”.

The Lankan Premier League 2020 is slated to get underway from the 21st of November to the 13th of December.

All the 23 matches in the tournament will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
