Sri Lanka in 3rd place on final day of SAG 2019

Sri Lanka is occupying the third place in the 2019 South Asia Games medals table by securing 39 gold medals in Nepal.

The final day of the competition that commenced on the 1st of December will be worked off in Kathmandu today.

Sri Lanka has won an impressive tally of 237 medals so far in the competition which includes 79 Silver and 119 bronze medals.

The Lankan contingent secured gold medals in Taekwondo, Athletics, Triathlon, Wushu, Weightlifting, Swimming, Golf, Badminton, Judo and Beach Volleyball events.

Meanwhile, India has secured a commanding lead with 297 medals including 162 gold, 91 silver and 44 bronze medals.

Hosts Nepal is placed second in the table with 49 gold, 55 silver and 92 bronze medals.

Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Bhutan occupy the remaining places in the 2019 South Asian Games medals table.

The 2019 South Asian Game will conclude later today with a mega closing ceremony in Kathmandu.
