Sri Lanka secures 3 bronze medals in Karate events

Sri Lanka has secured three bronze medals on the opening day of Karate events at the 2019 South Asian Games in Nepal.

The events were worked off at the Nepal Karate Academy in Lalitpur.

S Balraj won the bronze medal in the Men’s Single Kata event while Shani Hettiarachchi won a bronze in the women’s Kata event today.

The Lankan women’s team won the bronze medal in the Team Kata event which was won by hosts Nepal.

Meanwhile, Nepal continues to top the Medals Table with three Gold Medals, one Silver and one Bronze. India has secured four medals in total with one gold, two silver and one bronze medal while Pakistan has secured one gold and two silver medals.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have secured three bronze medals apiece and are placed third in the South Asia Games Medals Table.
