Sri Lanka’s mineral resources to be developed

Australia’s Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science Arthur Sinodinos says Australia will provide its support to conduct a survey to identify and create a map of Sri Lanka’s mineral resources.

Arthur Sinodinos made this statement during discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Australian Parliamentary Complex today.

Issuing a communiqué, the Office of the Prime Minister said the Australian government agreed to provide necessary scientific knowledge in relation to the innovation process, following a request made by Premier Wickremesinghe.

During discussions with Minister Arthur Sinodinos, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the government’s future economic objective is to lead Sri Lanka towards development through a knowledge-based economy and to subsequently provide more opportunities to innovations.
