Stephen Cook targets Sri Lankan whitewash

South African opener Stephen Cook says the hosts will be looking for a clean sweep when they clash against Sri Lanka during the 3rd and final Test in Johannesburg from tomorrow.

The South Africans have managed to comprehensively beats the Lankans in the opening two matches in Port Elizabeth and in Cape Town. The conditions will once again favour the Faf Dul Plesis led team at the Wanderers.

Cook ahead of the game said, “We’d love a clean sweep, We have just come from a team meeting where we have spoken about the importance of being 2-0 up and finishing the job. It’s first and foremost on the guys’ minds, we know the conditions have suited us and we have been playing some good cricket and when opportunities present themselves to dominate like this that is what we are looking to do.”

Cook however said rain, could put a damper on South Africa’s plans. However said the deck usually has pace and bounce which will aid their pacemen.

The series finale will get underway from 1.30 pm tomorrow.
